Description : Situated on the junction of Chapel Street and Bloom Street (entrance actually on the latter!). The pub has had a recent refurbishment and now appears to be run by Tom (formerly from The Angel, in Manchester’s NQ). 2 rooms, a small one at the front, curved around the bar and the main room which is almost subdivided into 3 : Main bar area, a comfy seating area with some leather chairs and an offset with a pool table. Open kitchen at the rear of the pub, developing reputation for good food, especially at lunchtime.
4 handpumps normally populated by micro-breweries from near and far, the beers are well kept and have recently included offerings from Saltaire, Redwillow and Black Jack breweries (soon to brew the Salford Arms house beer)
Good beer, good food and friendly staff. An excellent alternative to the nearby Kings Arms.
